YOGA, FOR THE MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT

The second aphorism of Patanjali Yog Sutras says “Yogas chitta vritti nirodhah”, which means “Yoga is stilling the fluctuations of the mind.”

Yoga has been increasingly integrated into educational settings around the world and in India. This is because of numerous benefits on the students’ physical health, mental well-being, emotional stability and even academic performance.

It has been seen that Yogic practices like pranayam promote mindfulness and relaxation through breathing techniques.
Yoga poses help improve flexibility, strength, balance, and coordination.

Students who practice yoga are able to recognize and manage their emotions in a healthy way, leading to improved social interactions and conflict resolution skills.
Research has shown that regular yogic practices can positively impact academic performance because they help improve concentration, memory, and cognitive function, leading to better learning outcomes.

By incorporating these practices into the school curriculum, students can learn to manage stress, improve focus, and enhance their emotional well-being at an early age and carry these skills into adulthood.

Yoga promotes overall well-being and academic success. It provides students with tools to navigate the challenges they may face in school and in life, promoting a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
At The Heritage School North Campus, students are encouraged to imbibe these practices at an early age and live emotionally happy and spiritually contended lives.
